Last month, Suno released their newest music model, Suno v5, and I have to say, I have been really impressed with its output. It’s surprisingly fast and easy to create original, dare I say great, songs. See my creation at the end of this post… It’s really good.
Suno was founded in 2021 by Mikey Shulman, Georg Kucsko, Martin Camcho, and Keenan Freyberg. They focus on AI music generation, and with v5, they’ve taken a big step toward creating truly professional-quality music. I’ve been following their updates for a while, and this version really stands out from their earlier models. It delivers superior song structure, improved vocal and instrument quality, and much greater creative control.
Shortly after the release of v5, Suno introduced Suno Studio, the first generative audio workstation, and this is where things get even more exciting. So what is Suno studio?
If you’ve ever used Digital Audio Workstations (DAWs) like Ableton or Logic, you know they are the backbone of professional music production. For a long time, Suno’s platform didn’t have that kind of multitrack editing environment, and I always felt that was the one thing holding it back…
Ableton and Logic provide a multitrack timeline view that lets you see and edit your music visually. (See below)

Suno has added a multitrack timeline editor and its capabilities have skyrocketed. It feels like they’ve finally bridged the gap between AI music generation and real production. Whether you’re a seasoned producer or someone like me who just loves experimenting with music, Suno has become an incredibly powerful and accessible tool.
AI music has been taking over my feeds and I don’t think it will be a long time before we see AI songs topping the charts. This AI song inspired by 50 Cent’s “Many Men” has already garnered 2.7M views on YouTube.
I can see Suno becoming an even more powerful tool for producers as it adds new features like effects and expanded instrument options.
Final song, listen below!
